Cometic Clutch Cover Gaskets are constructed from AFM (Aluminum Foam Material), a chemically blown, compounded nitrile synthetic rubber bonded to an aluminum core. The aluminum core provides exceptional strength, ensuring a tight, reliable seal that prevents weeping or crawling, especially in modern engine cases with limited sealing surfaces. Installation is simplified with no need for sealants, reducing service time as the AFM material does not stick to the engine case, eliminating scraping during replacement. AFM’s high-temperature resistance (over 250°F / 121°C) and 85% recovery rate ensure strong torque retention and consistent performance. No gasket sealants or silicone beads are required, and re-torqueing is unnecessary.
