Description
The S&S Cycle 583 Easy Start Camshaft Kit is designed to provide optimal performance across a broad RPM range, specifically between 1500 and 5000 RPM. The Easy Start feature works by momentarily reducing crank compression during startup. Once the engine is running and RPM increases, the compression release lobe retracts centrifugally, restoring full compression for normal operation without any compromise in performance. This kit is a bolt-in solution optimized for Softail and Dyna models, but can be used in any Big Twin, offering an excellent overall camshaft upgrade. Experience improved throttle response and a more powerful riding experience with this premium camshaft kit.

This kit includes camshafts, gear cover gasket, bearings, retaining ring, O-ring, thread lock, and instructions. Installer must check coil bind, valve-to-valve clearance, and valve-to-piston clearance. Not for models with OEM compression releases. Not recommended for compression ratios of 10.0:1 or greater.
