S&S Precision Made Hydraulic Tappets – Engine

These S&S hydraulic tappets have a body manufactured from alloy steel billet using precise CNC machining techniques and are heat treated for optimum strength and wear resistance. High precision, hardened ball-type check valve system provides superior sealing and lash control. Valve seat is self-cleaning and less susceptible to noise caused by oil contamination. Rotating check ball prevents localized wear and pitting. Plunger is precision ground and selectively fitted to tolerances in the millionths-of-an-inch range for quiet operation. Exclusive high-strength pushrod seat employs precision edge metering for positive oil control. Rugged one piece design for reliability and impact resistance under all conditions. Premium full-engagement snap ring retainer provides positive control under the most severe operating conditions. Sold in sets of 4. Also available with HL2T Travel Limiters installed. These improve cold starts and offer better high RPM valve timing accuracy. Tappets with H2LT Travel Limiters require the use of adjustable push rods.
