Description
The Hot Rods Connecting Rod Kit features a connecting rod crafted from certified 8620 AISI steel for exceptional tensile strength and fatigue resistance. The crankpin is manufactured from hot-rolled ASTM 4115 steel and case hardened to 58-62Rc for increased wear resistance and longevity. The latest caged needle roller bearing design ensures high RPM performance and extended bearing life. The uniquely designed big end incorporates strategically placed side scalloping and vent slots to minimize bearing race distortion at high RPM. The small end is double drilled to provide enhanced lubrication and cooling to the wrist pin bearing, a crucial feature for engines with piston crowns close to the wrist pin. Each rod is shot-peened to eliminate surface stress risers and smoothly blend the forging's radiuses. Finally, double honing ensures an ultra-round bearing surface, contributing to unmatched reliability, even at high RPMs. Compatible with both Hot Rods and OE crankshafts, this kit is proudly made in the USA.
