Description

The S&S Cycle 635 H.O. Gear Drive Camshaft Kit is engineered for modified engines with a 106" or greater displacement and compression ratios between 10.0:1 and 11.0:1. This kit reverses the rear cam's rotation, creating added clearance between cam lobes, ultimately enabling higher cam lifts. By eliminating timing chain lash and improving timing accuracy, this gear drive system provides more reliable and precise valve operation. While it works with stock, unported heads, optimal performance is achieved when paired with S&S CNC ported heads. The 635 H.O. grind provides the best power gains between 3000-6000 RPM. Note that material must be removed from the inner surface of the stock gear cover for installation, making professional installation highly recommended. Adjustable pushrod/cover kit from S&S is required for proper installation.

Important to know

This is not a bolt-in camshaft kit. Installation requires material removal from the inner surface of the stock gear cover. A hydraulic press and other professional-level tools are required. S&S requires the use of an adjustable pushrod/cover kit (not included). Cam bearings and gaskets must be replaced when installing new cams. The installer must check coil bind, valve-to-valve clearance, and valve-to-piston clearance. Due to the inherent characteristics of gear drives, you may experience more valve train noise. Adjustable pushrod/cover kit is required (sold separately).
